Musing Mondays June 29

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about mid-year reading…
Now that we’ve come to the middle of the year, what do you think of your 2009 reading so far? Read anything interesting that you’d like to share? Any outstanding favourites?
So far this as been a pretty good year of reading. I’ve read over 100 books and only had a few duds. I also found a new favorite series, Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Technically I read the first book last year but I read the other two early this year. A few other pretty good series have been Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, Wake by Lisa McMann and Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz. This year also saw the conclusion of a wonderful series, The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. The third and final book City of Glass by Cassandra Clare was recently released. The stand alone books that really grabbed me are: Willow by Julia Hoban, The Actor and the Housewife by Shannon Hale and The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams. What about you?

Many of those are on my TBR list! (Uglies, Cassandra Clare’s trilogy, Blue Bloods) I’ve read Wake and Fade and loved them both. Definitely a series worth reading!

Debbie, I’ve got the Uglies series ready to read. I’ve got to read something not YA here to add to my roster but I think it will be pretty high on my list of the next YA read I get going on.
I’ve been thinking of getting Wake to read so hearing you’ve read it and think highly of it as well makes it more likely a purchase.

have to say best books I’ve read this year is Catching Fire, teh sequel to Hunger Games, and it’s amazing. I liked Hush, Hush a lot, and I have Blood Promise that I started yesterday and find impossible to put down. Can you tell that I’m a fan. Shiver by maggie Stiefvater is great too. And Dust of 100 Dogs by AS King.
