And you're not the first to voice frustrations with Mike's reaction toward the end. He doesn't handle the situation well! However, I felt it was realistic. When my husband read the book, he asked if I'd based Mike on him, as he would've reacted in a simliar fashion if we'd ended up in that situation. (LOL - glad we didn't!)
