Description from Amazon.com: Mary Anne and Logan play pretend parents to an egg “baby” for their Modern Living class.
I read this book for both my Revisit Your Childhood Favorite Reads Challenge and My Friend Amy’s Baby-Sitter’s Club Week. This was one of my favorite series growing up and I couldn’t wait to reread some of the books. Luckily I was able to find this one in a used book stores. Now that I have a daughter of my own I am amazed I used to think it was normal for 11-13 year old girls to baby sit children as young as 6 month old infants. I cannot imagine leaving my daughter with a 13 year old to babysit. That said I was glad to find I still enjoyed the book. This was a fun story as the girls in the club have a school project that has them married and taking care of an egg “baby”. Mary Anne thinks it will be a piece of cake since she has had so much baby sitting experience. She is shocked to find out it’s harder than she imagined. It was fun to see all the girls and Logan trying to cope with raising a “child” and seeing their reactions. I think if I can find one I will definitely keep revisiting this series.

I loved this series when I was a kid too. I thought about choosing a couple for the challenge but LJ Smith won that battle. I retired from babysitting before I turned 15, scary! I don’t have any kids but I wouldn’t feel comfortable letting someone so young watch them!

LOL. I guess maybe it’s just because my neighbor’s 17 yr old is a delinquent who drinks, dates guys who have been in prison, etc. and the 14 yr old across the street from us went to hospital after drinking too much alcohol. So now I’m all paranoid.

I loved this series when I was a kid! I love revisiting the Baby-Sitters Club books. Now that I look back at the books I cannot imagine that these girls were 12 and 13 years old. They seemed so much older and mature when I was a kid reading the books!

Ashley-I know. I guess cause we were so young they seemed older and more mature.
Casse-I can’t remember the Girl Talk series very much but I think I read them. Will have to see if I can find a copy to reread.
Amy-it was fun! Thanks for hosting.
